Uganda: A Legacy of Coffee Excellence Uganda is one of the world’s leading coffee producers and Africa’s top exporter coffee, contributing an average of 15% of the country’s total export revenue over the last decade. The country ranks fourth globally in Robusta production, after Vietnam, Brazil, and Indonesia. Uganda is also home to high-quality Arabica coffee, grown in the highland areas of Mount Elgon, the Rwenzori Mountains, and the West Nile region. As the origin of Robusta coffee, Uganda boasts naturally occurring wild varieties, including the specialty Coffee. Robusta accounts for 80% of Uganda’s coffee exports, while Arabica, introduced in the early 20th century, thrives in high-altitude regions with cool, moist climates. The unique climate gives Uganda’s coffee a distinct flavor profile that sets it apart from other coffee varieties. Additionally, sustainable and specialty coffee production is on the rise, with these premium coffees commanding higher prices in niche markets compared to conventional grades.

Legit Coffee Limited was born out of the passion and vision of four young, driven individuals back in 2018. What started as an idea quickly took root, and by 2024, Legit Coffee Limited was officially incorporated. Today, we’re proud to be one of the leading coffee traders in Uganda, with our reach extending globally. Our journey hasn’t been easy, but with Determination, Desire, Dedication, Discipline, and above all, God’s grace, our dream of bringing great coffee to the world has become a reality. At our core, we are driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of coffee farmers throughout Uganda. This vision is embedded in everything we do, from the way we work with small holder farmers to how we bring their coffee to you. Our expertise

Legit Coffee Ltd. is equipped with Q-Grader experts who specialize in assessing the quality of green beans, roasted coffee, and powdered coffee. Our services cater to coffee exporters, roasters, beverage manufacturers, franchise companies, and coffee shops. As a key stakeholder in Uganda's coffee value chain, Legit Coffee Ltd. is committed to enhancing coffee quality in the country. We aim to provide technical guidance and develop products derived from locally produced Robusta and Arabica coffee. Additionally, we support projects that promote sustainability among local farmers, ultimately improving coffee yields. Our initiatives are designed to boost both the quantity and quality of coffee exports to regional markets, including Europe and the Middle East.

Sustainability

Legit Coffee Limited is dedicated to working with small holder farmers who prioritize sustainable growing practices, ensuring that the land and resources are preserved for future generations by environmentally responsible practices throughout the coffee supply chain, from farm to cup. We support farmers adopt sustainable agronomic practices. We do this through advisory and extension services in order to improve their coffee quality and productivity. We provide the coffee farmers and coffee processors with ready market at fair prices for their Coffee hence increasing their income in the long term.
